Final Book Layout
This is my final book layout, after adding in all of my text, making all the changes based on my feedback and also tweaking certain things until I was happy with them. Some main changes I have made since my last post are things such as adding in an extra image to my cheesecake method page, so it matches up more to the other method pages that include four square images and one bigger rectangular one at the bottom. I wanted to do this as the four small square ones I initially had made it feel like something was missing so this just helped to fill that void. I added another Image onto my balloon making method page as I felt like a visual was needed for the finished basket, to show the reader what theres should look like after the steps had been followed, as one image of this step didn't feel like enough to show what should happen.

I also added in all of my text drafts such as the introduction, thank you page, equipment/ingredients lists and the back cover. Which made the whole book feel a lot more finished and more professional. In addition to adding in the text I also swapped all of the images I was using in the book for their finished retouched versions after I had finished them all.

I figured out how I wanted the balloon pages to be laid out, as before I was struggling on how I wanted to present this as the text itself covered three whole pages, due to how many steps there were. I tried having the last two text pages both side by side but this didn't make any sense because of the method images I wanted to include. I had the first two pages as normal, like the rest of the recipes, with the hero images, ingredients and first part of the method. Then with the text following on to the next pages, I put the cake instructions on the right hand side of the double page and a photograph of me working on the actual cake on the left. This then leads onto the last double page, with all of the method images for the fondant balloon topper. I think this works well, as I didn't want to have all the text trying to fit on one page as it would be far too much, especially without images.

I have also gone through it myself for proof reading any text and making sure it makes complete sense. As well as having two others read through it as other people can find what you have missed and as this book is really text heavy It was necessary to have a few other people read through. This was really helpful as they did find a lot of stupid mistakes i had made, as well as places where the font was different on certain numbers or words that I hadn't seen.

I am happy with the final layout and with what I have been able to achieve for this project. It has been a lot of work making and shooting ten different bakes but I have really enjoyed doing it and It had been great to create a book I am really passionate about.
