Klipur is an earbud eco-system focused on adding value through experience. Klipur aims to provide convenience and peace of mind, allowing attention to be given back to where its needed the most.
Behavioural Insights.
Insight discovery involved a task analysis to help highlight pain points and user needs - users valued the convenience of earbuds whilst on the move or a busy commute, yet the separate charge case most earbuds require can be lost when in a rush. It became clear there is an opportunity for a better way to keep earbuds secure when they’re not being used.

Exploring Solutions.
The use of ‘how might we’ statements helped drive diverse solutions, which were systematically checked to ensure requirements were met. There was a focus on solutions which elevated the user experience by removing the charge case and exploring a range of alternative charging methods. The simplest expression of this involved directly attaching the earbuds together after use, and moving the charging method to a base at home.
User Experience.
User studies checked early prototypes to identify potential usability problems with insights driving the ongoing direction of development. Journey maps helped resolve experience and touch points throughout the day, which proved the value in perceived convenience and comfort. It was observed that solutions with a lower weight distribution stayed in the ear whilst moving, which reduced the discomfort of regular adjustment.
Industrial Design.
Klipur is designed to champion convenience and simplicity through experience. The visual representation of this was achieved through sensitivity towards the form with soft, continuous surfaces paired with a gentle angle to ensure the earbuds always sit flush against the head.
Klipur is designed to directly attach together when not in use, providing convenience and peace of mind whilst simultaneously turning the earbuds onto standby mode. Just like our phones, Klipur can be charged at night using a standalone charge base.
