I lead the creative direction for the product photography from the first round of sketches, providing quick in-house photographs of the product layouts to updating the final professional photographs. All the products were photographed blank in-front of neutral backgrounds.
While adding the recommended content to the product shots I was able to take some extra time and set the files up to be easily adjusted and saved out for our new mobile website. This allowed us to skip the page mock-up stage, thus cutting the time spent on the project by more than half as initially planned.
We also started to us an internal tool that allows the creative team to associate an xml file with an image. This allows us to control text styling in every locale without having to save the text in the final image. I now work in conjunction with our developers to figure out which ares can use the internal tool, who is responsible for the various spots and I create new css sheets and code templates for the web creative team.
