LET'S GO !
Back in 2018, one fine morning, while I was still on my bed, my cousin called and asked me "Wanna go to Bhutan ?!". At first, it felt like a joke but to my luck, it was not. I rushed to my room as my excitement went above and beyond. Packed my clothes, took the camera and in a few minutes, we were joined by one of his friend and his brother and then what, we were ready to be on the road!
It was pouring heavily at first, but what an awesome feeling it was. Driving against the rain with raindrops falling on the windshield and songs about roads and journeys.
Rain was followed by the foggy uphill roads and soon, we found ourselves driving through the clouds.
Magnificent landscapes along with the colorful architecture of Bhutan just took our breath away!
LOST IN ANOTHER WORLD
Through the way, we saw many small shops on the edge of the cliff and people working on the roads in such tough conditions. It made me feel how well privilege we are and reminded me to value what we have and be satisfied with it.
Despite driving through the whole day we were not tired a bit. The beautiful scenic view kept us on the edge of our car seat throughout the road.
Taking little breaks in between and soaking in all that fresh air was one of the best feelings of the trip.
It took us a whole day of driving to reach our destination city Paro, a small town in Bhutan. The city had such a welcoming feeling which makes you feels so cozy and warm. Located in a valley, the breathtaking view made me fell in love with it!
We stayed in Paro for a night and the next day did some sightseeing, went to the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu, had our lunch there, and then left for our home the same day.
NOSTALGIA
On looking back, I think that this was the best road trip that I have ever been part of. It was such impromptu planning (best to say no planning) and none of us thought that it was going to be so good. This one particular trip I will remember throughout my life.
