PANTONE WEEK
PANTONE WEEK is an event dedicated to color, which integrates a contest, a workshop and a conference under the motto, "Color does not add a pleasant quality to the project - it strengthens the design."

In today's competitive job market and in a world saturated with choices, color an be used as an effective way to differentiate, personalize, and enhance each one's creativity. THe millennial generation is characterized by its versatility, optimism, hyperconnectivity, and self-expression. Without color, it would lack authenticity. For millennial designers, color is an even more important feature; the desire for color is, as Fernand Leger said, "A natural seed, like the desire for water or fire." Millenial designers are not afraid of creativity and experimentation; they use color to convey feelings, moods values, individuality, and originality. In a world where color is ubiquitous, its power, and capacity to generate optimism, comfort, and a sense of belonging cannot be neglected.

We are a family owned and operated business. PANTONE is known worldwide as the standard language for accurate color communication, from designer to manufacturer, retailer to manufacturer, in a wide variety of sectors. For 56 years, he has been working on the creation of a common color language. Organized in partnership with Tecnimprensa and within the scope of the hosted program of Porto Design Biennale '19, PANTONE WEEK includes:
* color management workshop (Tomas Soeiro/Tecnimprensa)
* conference by Ingrid Holacsek (Pantone)
* contest for students and alumni of Design

This project presented an opportunity to challenge myself to represent the millenial/z generation, since I find myself as a hybrid between them, not only as a person, but also representing the images that others deposit into it. This generation is recognized as irreverent, progressive, and challenging the status quo. Support for socialism has grown in Gen Z, it tends to have a keen critical eye and its members are great activists. Details like, "ok karen" which is usually used to dispense conservative speeches, usually on the part of older people. The t-shirt or bracelets that appeal to the concern and protection of the planet and human rights, and the phrase "industry killer", being weaponized against millenials and gen z to convey that they are "killing".

Gen Z grew up in the age of the internet and developed a keen intuition to interact with technology. Additionally, much of the humor and sense of community comes and spreads online. The F key refers to a meme known in the gaming community: "Press F to Pay Respects," in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, when the player adopts the character of a US marine who, loses his best friend in combat. When attending the funeral, the game offers the option of pressing the F key, in the PC version, to pay tribute to him. Since then, the online community has referred to the meme, usually in an ironic tone, as a substitute for "Rest in peace." As a background, a copypasta in binary code was placed to represent that mood and connection to the internet that the generation has.
