Music Mania is an urban, vintage record store that sells over 80,000+ records. This home away from home shop allows you to find even the most hidden gems, we once listened to on a daily basis. Our brand is retro, and old school with a modern twist to soften some of the rough edges that follows a vintage look. This color palette consists of old, worn colors with the undertones of vibrant color. We aim for individuals that seek a nostalgic environment that goes along with listening to vinyls in the modern age allowing us to wow you with the wide variety of memories we have.
The Music Mania logo focuses on the main selling point of the brand, vinyls–and the old school with a twist theme. While the logo a majority of the time is a simple black and white, you are able to add color to this design without much difficulty. These ideas are paired with a clean but interesting font to pull the whole logo together.
Within the Music Mania catalog, I wanted to keep the vintage but modern style, with a mix of the brands worn colors, photographs, and patterns. In some of the spreads I explain the purpose of the company and how it came to be, while in others I highlight some of the many vinyls we have on the website.
The logo’s visual style and illustration started with a variety of different graphics in order to get the brands’ mission out that we wanted to convey. The possibility of what the brands wanted to focus on selling was also a factor when designing the many versions of the logo. Overall, the type mixed with the simple but strong illustration brought together the successful logo.
