Be water, my friend

ABOUT THE PROCESS

Este foi o primeiro passo na decisão da composição - criei blocos de cor e logo em seguida comecei a detalhar. Pode-se notar que sou ansiosa e não muito boa nisso. :D

This was the first step in composition - I created color blocks and right after that, started painting and detailing. As you can notice, I am a little anxious and not very good at that. :D

Continuei detalhando, com um pouco mais de foco na personagem, e aí comecei a perceber que as coisas não estavam lá indo muito bem. Pode-se notar que a água está parecendo cabelo!

I kept detailing, focusing a little more on the character, then I noticed things were not going as expected. You can notice that the water looks like hair!

Não precisei que ninguém me dissesse "Ohana, isso tá ficando estranho" - corri para nossa amada internet e pesquisei por tutoriais de água. Achei alguns sensacionais, misturei tudo e recomecei a parte da água - comecei a ficar bem mais feliz com o resultado.

I didn't need anyone to tell me "Ohana, this is getting kinda weird" - so I ran to our beloved internet and searched for water painting tutorials. I found some amazing ones, mixed some of them and restarted to paint the water - I started to be a lot more happy with the results.

Neste ponto, percebi que a água não era o único problema - a composição estava confusa e não estava realmente ajudando a fazer a personagem aparecer, então resolvi fazer algumas mudanças.

At this stage, I noticed that the water was not the only problem - composition was confusing and wasn't actually making the character "pop", so I changed it a little bit.
