Tall Tale Postage Stamps

Tall Tale Postage Stamps | information design
Postage stamps are designed to serve two purposes. One is to represent a countryís currency and the second is to communicate national heritage or history. These stamps tell the story of 7 tall tales from American folklore. Tall tales were originally told to inspire and encourage those on the rough American frontier. Each tale communicates a different value that was meant to aid in tough times.

Today our country faces different, yet still troublesome times. By retelling these tales in a modern context, the values are reintroduced to the American people and are made relevant again today. Each stamp is illustrated with the details of the story. Sally Ann Thunder, for example, demonstrated fearlessness as she wrestled gators and wore a beehive as a hat.
