Semi collective Housing

It is a semi-collective housing design to accommodate 24 families living in uneven terrain of 15 meter difference in a natural landscape overlooking the sea.

The project idea was to create a community atmosphere where each unit has its own private life. Inspired by the principle of the Arab Muslim Medina, the dwellings are all adjoining distributed over the whole of the land in a way to create public sharing plots connected by shaded passages. The layering of the volumes and their insertion on platforms facilitated integration into the topography and created views all over the field.
The presence of the white color, the wooden texture and the vegetal element gave a belonging notion to the inhabitants, a harmony with the context and a purity.
Each housing unit is accessible from public space, containing terraces on the roofs of the other units.
