Infograpghics: refuge point europe
Even before the refugee crises of 2015, I dealed with the the topic flight to europe by creating some infographics. The numbers and facts I used are based of the year 2012. Already during this time it was a daily topic in the news with pictures of little boats with too many people on them or camps that looked like cities. Naturally it is a very emotional topic – it is about people’s lives. However, my approach for the visualization was very reduced by using mainly simple elements. The ways refugees take to europe, the death rate on these ways, the situation on Lampedusa and the distribution of refugees among countries are some of the aspects I chose to focus on.
