Synesthesia: A Hyper Connected World

For the ISTD Brief Putting Things in Order I chose to look at a rare neurological trait and how perception is shaped by individual brains.

Synesthesia is the coupling of two or more senses. Most commonly it is the pairing of typography and color. Other types include seeing music as visuals or seeing concepts like time in space.

I interviewed 40 people with the trait. I gathered scientific research on the topic and made each interview into a short story, capturing each Synesthetes idiosyncratic world.
