This is a close up detail of an illustration called the Blue Moth. First drawn in Illustrator then colored and textured in Photoshop.
This is a close up shot of the texture I overlayed in Photoshop. In this case I used some heavy recycled brown paper as my main texture. I also tinted the image with a light brown to give it an aged look.
This the final image of the moth. I know it's hard to see the detail in this small image but as you can tell I like to use textures like sand paper and whatever I can find laying around the studio floor. I then always use the transparency to pull back a bit so the texture itself doesn't over power
the actual image. Hope you like it.
