BAIRRO DOS MUSEUS - DESAFI/ARTE NO BAIRRO
[Project for Advertising Communication] - PART I

In 2015, I've received a briefing for this project of Museum Quarter (Bairro dos Museus), and the goal was to plan and create a campaign, conceive brainstormings, in order to find a concept and develop the corresponding communication, considering a target of our choice and represent it as best as we could.
Almost 6 years later, I've decided to redesign and rethink the visual concept of the communication and merchandising. I will publish here the final work, properly captioned, to make it easier to follow, from the base/inspiration to the end result.
To contextualize, Museum Quarter was created by Cascais city council and D. Luís I foundation and longs to promote tradition and Cascais' patrimony, while doing events, relying on the talent, innovation and creativity of the people that live the spirit of the quarter.
The concept of this project is "DESAFI/ARTE NO BAIRRO" (challenge + art at the quarter) and, by this, I meant to create an environment where people could experience different kinds of art and express themselves, for youngsters that don't know yet what career they want to pursuit or just want to do something dynamic and attend some concerts or even grownups that need a break after work (the target was from 15 years to 30). So it'd be a 3 day event, embracing art fields since live graffiti, painting exhibitions and workshops, body painting, concerts, related challenges and custom unisex merchandising.
One of the main painters related to Bairro dos Museus is Paula Rêgo, therefore the merch is inspired by her paintings and have her name on them.
 [PART I] -  MERCHANDISING
The first pictures show two of Paula Rego's paintings that were the inspiration for the tote bag. On the left is " Amor" and, on the right, is "Target" , both from 1995
Left picture: front view of the tote bag
Right picture: back view of the tote bag
These two paintings are some more examples of Paula Rego's work, although I couldn't find their names, I used them to design another options, for the tote bag and for a t-shirt.
Left: T-shirt front view (plain + logo)
Right: T-shirt back view
The painting on the left is called  "Agonia no Horto" and the one on the right is "Military Manoeuvres" (1975), both served as inspiration for the t-shirts below, through elements and colour references.
