Portrait in Adobe Illustrator

Final Project Description
The portrait of Selena Gomez was created in Adobe Illustrator. I formed it based of an image of the model. I started with the outline of the general different parts of the body including: the legs, torso, arms and head. After that I created a background. Then I started on creating the details of the different parts of the body. I started down on the feet created the shoes and moved upward piece by piece ending with the hair on the models head. After the model was done I started adding details to the background by adding some objects. I created a speaker in the background and created carpet on the floor and a table on the right side. After everything one done I started going over the lighting and adjusting the colors of things in the portrait and focus a lot of the skin color and the shadows on the model.
Process
I started out by researching different portrait illustration styles until I found something that I liked. Then I started to form an idea of what I wanted to do. After I decided what I wanted to do I started to create something thumbnails showing and overview and the basics of what I wanted to do. After getting the whole idea of what I wanted to do I starting creating my idea on Adobe Illustrator. I used an image to base my illustration off of and followed the basics of the image. During my process on illustrator I had a hard time with some of the shadows on the face and making them look natural as long as forming the eyes and the nose. When creating the hair I tried multiple differnt hair styles and came up one and created it with multiple layer of different shades and tints of the color black.
Next Steps
For my next steps I hope to come back to the portrait and create a more detailed background and make it look more realistic. I will also go back and smooth out parts of the portait and fix the saturation and hue of the colors.
