Urbanization brings many problems, especially when it is manifested by the sudden concentration of a large population in a small area.
The most serious problems of urbanization are increase of traffic, pollution of the environment, water resources management, destruction of green spaces, parks, agricultural land and open spaces. Most problems can be solved with the most effective and well recognized engineering technologies and sustainable practices.

The second Conference brought together experts, scientists, international lecturers from the wider region and Europe, as well as representatives of the government institutions - with the aim of analyzing past experiences and future challenges in the strategic planning of urban infrastructure.
It was also an opportunity to establish a strong forum for a comprehensive, interactive development cycle that will enable faster implementation of strategic development, both local and regional, and European projects related to urban planning and regional development.
2nd Conference on Urban Planning and Regional Development was held online in 2020 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
