ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Ilara Dowling is a blind designer based in the UK. She achieved a first class honours degree in BA Fashion Communication from Northumbria University, Newcastle. Here, she was introduced to branding and digital design which encouraged her to pursue this further and subsequently teach herself more. She later interned for both ELLE UK and Skinnydip London and was selected as a finalist for the Shillington Education Scholarship 2020. Inspired by the use of vivid colours, interesting textures, retro influences and eye-catching type, Ilara aims to show that lack of sight does not impair creative ability and an eye for design.
