2D Bee Pollination Game - Rapid Prototype
This short prototype was developed for a class project; we were prompted to create a top down game.
Lately, I find myself craving more relaxation time, so I thought it would be nice to fly around a pixel flower garden and pollinate plants as a bee. 🐝
This is a solo project; I made all the sprite assets in Aseprite, particle effects in Unity, and coded the game myself.
Total development time so far is 14.5 hours.

Game features:
-Collecting and depositing pollen from/onto plants
-Different particle effects appear depending on the state and color of the plant
-Pollen meter at the top of screen fills up when you collect pollen, and decreases when you pollinate
-A variety of plant and flower types; each contains a different amount of pollen/needs a different amount to be successfully pollinated
-A cute animation plays when you are doing pollination stuff
-'Doors' that warp you between different areas- typical of 2D games like this
I had a lot of fun putting this together and am looking forward continue work on it!

Plans for further development:
-Add an opening cutscene to clarify the player path and controls
-Create a queen bee NPC
-Add a secondary meter that fills when you successfully pollinate something. When this meter fills up, you can go back to the hive and create honey
