100% Tionghoa, 100% Indonesia

This is a book about Indonesian Chinese in general, targeted to the young generation.

I choose this topic as my Final Project in university because the majority of books that speak about Indonesian Chinese are too 'heavy' and 'texty' for the younger generation.

I'm using bright colors (based on the color of Coastal Batik / Batik Peranakan in Indonesia) and simple illustration style to make it easy-to-read so that it can trigger the targeted readers to learn more about this topic.

The Cover

I use a kind of paper that has a fabric-alike texture and gave embossed illustration as the finishing. For the title and book information part, I use matte sticker. I think different textures of the materials I use for the cover can give dimension and special sense that only printed material can give.

Icon and Chapter Divider

This book is divided in 5 chapters. I create 1 icon and 1 illustration for each chapter describing its content generally.

For the chapter divider, I create mini page which have function as permanent-book-marker from one chapter to another.
