Westons Old Rosie Cider Packaging Design

Old Rosie is a traditional cloudy cider that was named after Westons Cider’s much loved old 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller. Well known to cider and ale drinkers alike, ‘Old Rosie’ normally features on the pull pump next to two ales in a public house,as well as retailing in both 500ml and 2 Litre bottles.

The Brief:
• Re-brand Old Rosie, giving Westons real ownership of ‘the third pump’.
• Amplify existing asssets and create personality around the brand.
• Bring ‘Old Rosie’ the steam roller to life.
• Give the brand an identity and provenance that makes it a ‘must stock’ for any discerning pub.
• Appeal to both Old Rosie loyalists as well as attracting new cider drinkers.
• Explore using primary colours and Westons heritage graphics within the designs.

Project completed whilst working at BOS Design.
Sitting with a glass of cider and watching the sun go down..... Well known amongst cider and ale drinkers and often found on the pull pump in a public house, Old Rosie, named after the steam roller that lives at the Westons farm, needed to be brought to life through packaging and pump clip.
