Both research and project work, this analysis of the city of Siem Reap in Cambodia took place over several months and led to the proposal of an urban project during a trip there. Social and economic issues being paramount in this region very tainted by mass tourism and prone to climatic hazards, the work was formed from a body of urban theory integrated into spontaneous urban practices identified on the spot. It resulted in an aqueduct project supporting the networks necessary for the constitution of the city, whose structure that can be appropriated by the inhabitants would meet the needs for emancipation and autonomy that they told us about.
Back in France, it is a broader reflection on the mode of production of the city and its actors that allowed us to establish a working methodology to deal with the unofficial to create the city. The objective being equality for all in the face of networks with the aim of producing a more just territory where each inhabitant would participate in his own environment through self-management and appropriation.
