Several art and craft of India has taken a back seat with the capitalism that has introduced cheaper products with the same usability. The communities that are involved in the production of craft are generally from the rural areas and their craft used to be their bread butter. Since the sales of indigenous craft has declined, artisans are forced to look for an alternative profession. Ultimately leading to the extinction of the craft.
Shilp is an app which focuses on the user to learn more about specific crafts and order goods directly from the artisans. Tourism is also enhanced as details about community museum and homestays will be available along with the option to book. All the revenue generated will be used to keep the community producing the craft.
