Houston, We Have A Problem: Illustration

Houston, We Have A Problem...

I did this illustration a million years ago.

I was teaching myself design and Adobe Illustrator by coming up with silly ideas and selling them on shirts and prints. This idea is one of the few that stands out to me, even though I would design it much differently today.

One of the most endearing things about starting something new is not having a clue about what you are doing.

We all want to be great at something. Especially when you've if you've got great taste but no skill to back it up. But in order to be great, we have to go through a process of sucking at it. Not that we are aware of that in the moment. When I designed this, I thought I was the bee's knee's 🐝. Now I look at it (fondly) and see the hundred little things I would do differently. But that's part of the process. Seeing flaws in your old work is a sign of improvement.

I'd like to take a second crack at this design soon. If you're interested in buying an updated version on a print, message me on Behance.
