Snowboarding on a Hotel

For this piece, I answered the question "how can I manipulate scale to illustrate an idea" by crafting an image of a snowboarder on top of a hotel in Singapore. 
First, I cut out the hotel using the pin tool and a layer mask. Then, I cut out an image of a frozen over lake and placed the layer above the hotels waterfront and I put a filter on it to blend them. Next I took an image of a ski slope and I used it as the background. 
Next I took an image of a snowboarder and I cut her out using a pin tool and layer mask. Next I took an image of a snowboard and used a layer mask to make it look like it is on top of the hotel. Then I adjusted the shadows using the burn tool. This is the final piece:
