a book of typographic album-cover- design concepts for a song that has helped me get through quarantine! 😇
These are a sneak-peek to some of the covers. 👀
design01: inspired by the main concept of their album, Home Tapes, in which “Oceansize”. Home Tapes was released early on during the pandemic and produced within the duo’s home; they wanted to reach out to others also struggling with loneliness and vulnerability during these difficult times. This album cover is designed similarly to a calendar as a representation of how every day is seemingly so repetitive during this pandemic.
design02: inspired by minimalistic Swiss Design using glyphs and blue gradients playing on the theme of oceans.
design03: inspired by “sun glitter”, the reflection of sunlight hitting water waves, using circle glyphs and blue gradients— again exploring different themes of oceans.
this post is assigned by my typography class, but I’m so excited to have finally finished it!! this project took a total of 10 weeks and consists of 40 album cover designs, redesigned articles, & more. (Note: The book hasn’t actually been printed— this is just a mock-up.)"
