Social Media extension: As an extension of this project, we were required to create a social media campaign to further push our marketing and advertising skills. I created a collaboration with Strava, an already existing mobile app, designed to promote the commute green challenge and what it meant. Above and below are examples of my social media extension in place on the Strava mobile app.
Part 1 of the guerilla advertising I created for this campaign. The street signs would theoretically be replaced with these Sunrise Movement climate change protest campaign advertisements.
Part 2
Part 3
This project is titled Design as Dissent, showing how graphic design can be used as a voice for change and protest. My project revolves around the UN Sustainability goal of Climate Action. I decided to partner with The Sunrise Movement, a youth led political action movement in the United States. Sunrise color/logo is black and yellow, which gave me direction for the palette of my project. My partner, Zoe, and I create a guerilla protest in the form of a bike, to further iterate our idea of commuting green as much as possible and reducing personal fossil fuel emissions. The bike sign would be a daily protest, not needing an organized event to share one's voice on climate action. The second part involved a social media extension, where we created a Commute Green challenge that gives participants incentive to walk, bike, ect. their daily commute for one month. The last portion of this campaign involves advertising, were we replaced normal street or road signs with our Sunrise Movement designs as a form of protest as well as advertising and awareness.
