Michael Jordan illustration for the Rareink's NBA official artwork collection.
This piece of the Jumpman himself Michael Jordan was produced for the official art vendor of the NBA Rareink. The illustration was made using squid ink, watercolour, pen and pencil. For this piece I decided to experiment with colour, I rarely use colour in my artwork and limited my colour palette to monochromatic pigments. The subtle use of a crimson red with the black and white contrasted nicely.
The artwork was created by illustrating separate components scanning these into the computer and digitally compositing them together to produce the final illustration. The alternative piece was originally black and white; however we decided to produce this illustration with a small burst of colour.
