We came to a spot and looked around us. What here could be so close to the history of EKKM? Then we saw a concrete pillar in front of the building, which was slightly falling apart and damaged. It made sense, the main part of a building has stood here since 1910
So, we decided to underline, the time, the flow, the energy of the whole museum, through a concrete pillar.
While brainstorming, it was essential to make it conceptual, to include the history of the museum, the works, artists and even visitors that visit the museum and leave traces of their energy and of the times they spent there.
In total there are four concrete Pillars on the property.
For the “transmedia production” course and “EKKM – Museum of Becomings” project we are doing two and in future we plan to cooperate with the museum to continue with two more.
The idea of modifying an ordinary milieu of previously old industrial area into a cradle of art seemed fascinating. It is something seen in all creative communities around Europe. With street art artists shape old buildings and areas, to breath into the old facade a new fresh and bright energy
A process video of "healing" graffiti colours:
As the worldwide pandemic progress, we had to make drastic changes to our original plans. Making an art Installation in co-operation with EKKM felt like a great way to dive into their world of art and also it was a way for us to see how EKKM works with its artists.

Unfortunately, during this project the museum was not open and the communication between our team and the museum have happened only through Skype and email. This is not their usual way of doing things. Nevertheless,  they were open for the idea of our installation and agreed to let us make it in front of the museum, on their property.
The colour red used in the pillar has a meaning of ambition, excitement, impulsiveness and vitality. These suit the museum's atmosphere as their punk mentality can be sensed before even entering the property.

Colour blue represents calmness, thoughtfulness, spirituality and coldness, feelings one visiting a museum will face. Cold concrete walls, the place with no heating that so ambitious, energized; so you forget about cold. These two combined create a contrast between each other.

The colours are painted on the dents of the pillar – it shows the effect of time, visualization of the time affection but also the individuality that forms through flaws…
