Winter Sake served

The metal device attracted me, because of the funny shape, and an aged  surface.  It was made to serve hot Sake(Japanese rice wine) with just the right temprature.  The Sake container is placed in water which is heated up with burning charcoal.

The day was ending, at Ohmiimazu city, by Biwa Lake, an hour train ride from Kyoto.
This Japanese version of an auberge (an inn serving haute cuisine), had nice lightings in every rooms.
