The font used in the video is Impact-the quintessential internet typeface which was released in 1965. Impact was always valued for its legibility, especially over pictures. It was easy to read its thick letters even without a black outline. It became widely used for memes.
The font for the lyric video had to be the one that emphasizes the lyrics at the same time is relatable to the meme generation listening to a rap.
