Food Check!

What is it : It is an app that helps to find/locate restaurants that offer a variety of foods to choose from.
Who is it for : It is mainly made for "Food loving people, who like to try food in different restaurants".
Where does it live : It lives in the smartphone. It is a "phone application".

It is basically a restaurant selection application, mainly used to try different kinds of food near you. Firstly, the app reads your location and then a page with the top/trending restaurants in your current location is shown in the form of a list which also tells you the distance as well as the time taken to reach the restaurant based on current traffic conditions. All you have to do is press “GO” and a map is displayed which leads you to your desired restaurant. You can also filter your search/trending list based on most liked restaurant, price range, etc.

Procedure of the project
Firstly I decided to define the look, feel, style and mood of my project (Mood Board)to design an interface for a digital product or service ie. An application used to show near-by restaurants based on your location and the food choice that you make. A mood board acts as a visual research for the project idea.

Main elements of the mood board:
15 to 20 images to help define the mood or attitude of the product or service.
< >At least one possible typeface that will appear in the designA color palette of 3 to 5 colors based on/pulled from the imagery you collected

Next I created a set of design elements for my proposed digital product or app. The goal is to practice developing a consistent look and feel over an entire set of elements, to form a sample pattern library, even though you may not be using all of them in your final interface.

Main elements of the pattern library:
A button with text label in four states;
< >Four image-based icons; Four other design patterns or interface elements, such as navigation buttons, a slider, buttons to confirm or cancel a user input, etc.

Lastly I designed a sketch of my mobile application: Food check!

Main elements of the sketch:
On the left-hand side of the template, a sketch of the home/main screen for the interface is designed. Home screen is shown in a passive state using the design patterns and elements created in the pattern library, as well as colors, type, and imagery from the moodboard.
On the right-hand side of the same template, a second screen is created such that it illustrates the main functionality of the app, ie A map to the selected restaurant.
