This project assignment was our first Photoshop project in my Introduction to Multimedia class. The overall product is a CD Album cover and features a woman sitting on a cliff, gazing towards a storm. The woman is shadowed, which places focus and emphasis on the storm ahead of her. Considering this was our first Photoshop project, it took heavy focus and time on my part to ensure that I was using all tools and appliances correctly.
In creating this project, my main goal was to better understand the Photoshop program. I had used an old version of Photoshop in the past, yet I was not familiar with many of the tools. First and foremost, I wanted to follow each step with intricate detail and accuracy. When completing the project, I made my special addition quite simple, by adding in a ‘Explicit Content’ warning in the bottom corner for humor. My outcome met my goals because I had become much more experienced with the program.
This car magazine cover was our second Photoshop project in my Introduction to Multimedia class. I had become a bit familiar with the program, however, this project was new material. The cover required lots of work in different areas, including cutting out the car and sharpening the image, playing with shapes and the concept of unity, as well as experiencing interesting tools such as liquifying the tire background.
Being that the process of this project was uncharted territory, I wanted to ensure that I was learning Photoshop as I worked. I knew that I would have to implement my own twist to the project, so I began to change colors and add features as I went. This was extremely beneficial in learning Photoshop because it allowed me to explore different tools and features as I worked. The overall product satisfies me because it stands as proof of my development within the Photoshop program.
