Billboard and Poster Project 

I used a household washing machine to create two ads, an environmental ad which promotes water conservation and a products/services ad for Tide Cleaners. 

For the Water Conservation Ad, I combined the images of the washing machine, ocean photography, and silhouetted groups of people. The idea behind this concept came from the memory of watching the wash cycle of a front loading washer. I did some research on low efficiency washing machines and the capacity of the popular Monterey Bay aquarium. The final result really encapsulates the combining of these two ideas. 

I used juxtaposition in the Tide ad combining a laundry center, scuba diver, and ocean scene. In deciding on this concept I thought of what a customer might be looking for when going to a laundromat or using a laundry service, which was the ability to do larger loads of clothing. I felt like the concept of the vast ocean helped to illustrate that point.
