As part of my experience living in Finland, I have undertaken a small personal design project that has allowed me to understand the aesthetics of the Nordic countries as well as their culture on a deeper level.

Coming from the rich Latin American graphic heritage, having deepened studies in the spaces of Barcelona, and living daily life in northern Italy where the head of a small cherub with perfect features secures the windows of any house in the neighborhood, I feel how the Scandinavian aesthetic has taken to another dimension. I have appreciated first-hand how design evolves when it is not conceived solely from the visual, but also originates from fundamental aspects such as the materials used, its own aesthetic contribution, and its durability. This is key in a region where each everyday item or accessory must be able to withstand the onslaught of an extreme environment and must also be effective.

The purpose of the Finnish-Nordic design is not to intrude in an invasive way, it is not the impact or the tension. Contrary to this, it is focused on transmitting a cozy feeling of warmth, comfort, and integration. Something that is very logical when understanding that most of the time people will be in closed spaces that should feel like a "shelter". The design should not stress.

Nor does it redound to embellishments. It is more confident to be effective through the figure solid, consistent, and proof of everything. Another expression of its culture that values practicality and quality.
