This piece inspired by the artist Thomas Gainsborough, who liked to construct miniature landscapes in his studio using rocks, twigs and other foliage, he would then paint what he saw, but make the miniature in front of him look life-sized. I created this acrylic painting in a similar fashion; building a small mountain range and forest out of rocks and moss, then painting what I saw.
