Oslo Scaffolding • Mellom stillasene

––  Oslo scaffolding ––

Photos and aquarelle illustrations from a number of construction grounds in Oslo, Norway.

Many people are not too happy with the well-known sight of construction grounds, cranes and scaffolding in almost every city. I often find these constructions quite aesthetic, geometric and symbolicly very strong, as they are a part of the never ending sircle of a community moving forward. The moment the constructinon work is done the construction doesn't go away – it just moves on to the next place.
It won't help complainting about it, it won't go away.

My aim was trying to present the constructions, cranes and scaffolding
to the audience in new and more aesthetic way.

––  Mellom stillasene ––

The illustrations were made for the book Mellom stillasene (In between scaffolding).
This is a norwegian satiric and humorous book of poems – made as a comment to the unhappy
audience of the sights and sounds of construction grounds. The texts are collected online from blogs,
online debates, articles, newspapers etc. All of the texts are concerning personal complaints

regarding construction work, unfinished buildings and construction grounds.

All of the texts are in norwegian, and have not been edited in any way. The texts have
only been given a new «look» by arranging them like «classic» poems. This gives them
quite a different visual expression than the angriness they communicated in the first place.

Even though the book is in norwegian I still want to try to explain the concept in english here.
So I've made one english poem out from a text I found online, in an english website.
