Wood Carvers
This project is about the craftsmen community residing in Kasmiriganj cluster of Varanasi, who work throughout the day turning pieces of wood into various objects with their hands. About 60-70% of the families in this area have been doing wood carving from generations where the whole family is involved in the production process. A part of their house functions as a small factory with wood cutting and carving machines.
These photographs are an attempt to show how lives of these people revolve around their craft.
