This typeface is the first outcome of the phase one of the self-set project which is based on digital sound.
The typeface is produced out of existing font and waveforms. Each character features a waveform cut out from a dubstep artist's song, whose name begins with that particular letter.
To add even more sound into this alphabet, it was animated to sound which really brought those still characters to life.

SINGING
PENCIL
Cyborg pencil that is modified to produce sound while using it for its original purpose - drawing/writing.
The secret here is that human body and pencil graphite are great electricity conductors and paired with some simple circuit, piezo sounder and some foil allows the pencil to visualize with sound.

The idea of this piece is to capture full 26 character alphabet using sound and light through light sensors, some electronics and long exposure photography.
Four light sensors were directed to the centre of the space between them in the X shape to ensure full area coverage. Small torch was used as the light source for sensors to respond to.
While the light source was moved in the area of sensor response, long exposure photography was capturing light streaks in shapes of letters.

This piece of sound typography is based on the similar sound setup using light sensors and a light source. The difference here is the surface that makes type visible.
The surface inside the ‘box’ is light reactive which glows in the dark after being charged by any light source.
Moving small torch inside the box leave bright green lines on the light sensitive surface while producing sound affected by light movement.

The container for this project was structured into a website - type of container that can contain different media information, such as video, audio and images, while sharing them with others.
The website contains all “Typography and Sound” experiments and show them in their full beauty with explanations, on videos and numerous images.
