I created these infographics to communicate information about the natural beauty spots in Costa Rica and about the American-era architecture in Havana, Cuba. They are intended for the travel website Atlas Obscura and subsequently have a web page layout. For the Costa Rica infographic, my theme was a jungle theme and for my Havana infographic, my theme was inspired by vintage cigar boxes from the 1920's. This project taught me about the value of simplicity in design; to draw from existing elements in the design, keeping it uncomplicated, and to not introduce new elements. I kept my colour schemes simple in order to make the infographics visually simpler and easier to understand. It also taught me the importance of thinking about your visual style or theme at the outset of a project, and evaluating how well it will serve the design's practical application.
