During my mood boarding stage I thought it would be funny to have my tofu have hipster personas. I liked a more neutral and earthy color pallet, but as I started to sketch it began to take a different turn.
In my notes on the left I started with a mind map exercise where I listed everything that came to mind when I thought of Tofu. From vegans, to a gimmick of organic & free range tofu, then to chopsticks and then finally more of a Chinese take out kind of vibe. After some quick thumb nail sketches on the right, I knew I wanted to do something with chopsticks. Since "spooky season" is over I decided not to have the tofu piece get stabbed, and took a more animated approach.
Above are some process pictures as I worked in Illustrator to come up with different fonts and supporting images. I played with font color & logo design.
