This project started from my need to explore new storytelling ways, I wanted to experiment with compositions and colors, so I created color blotches with a marker and started drawing on top of them.
This lead me to many creative solutions and to creating these tiny environments, which I really felt expressed the adventure feeling I wanted to go for, so I started coloring them digitally, using a warm, playful kind of palette.
I soon realised this was not that different from what I used to do (and still do when I'm bored) as a kid: looking at clouds and seeing creatures, objects and wonderful places. So this creative activity took the name of Cloudwatching.
So this was the first round of environments I did for this project, which later transformed into a much bigger one and became my way of creating storyboards for illustrations. It has been one of the most important steps towards creative expression and storytelling in my art journey.
