As a part of an initiative to encourage social distancing through the enlargement of pedestrian space due to the COVID 19 pandemic, The city of Montreal commissioned Mu to produce a series of street murals directly on to the pavement of Avenue Mont Royal, one of the city’s main shopping and restaurant thoroughfares. The avenue was closed for the duration of the summer to allow families to get out of their homes and walk along an artistically disrupted length of road. Over 25 murals of various sizes (often spanning a city block) were produced by about the same number of artists.

Artists were given the theme of water, or current, as a starting point for their pieces and only a particular shade of blue was to be used for the entire series. Below is my block featuring a sort of water dragon, or Naga.
