The Stack | Serve was designed as a unique way to serve cream and sugar along with your coffee or tea. The concept began as part of a design brief to create a ceramic object that enhances the coffee experience. The set was made using an interesting digital to analog process, starting with a digital 3D model and then was 3D printed to create the "positives" for the molds. After much preparation and finishing of this model, the top piece to was used to create a two-part plaster mold and a one-part mold for the bowl. Using these mold's I was able to create a limited series of 10 sets with a variety of interior colors.

 

The Stack | Serve set is currently on display as part of a ceramics gallery in SCAD's Alexander hall.
