With this piece I pushed the concept of the diver being surrounded by a blue toned environment to emphasize the feeling of being under water, then adding just a touch of yellow in his flippers to make it pop. It was a lot of fun playing around with this concept and combining photos to achieve what I was looking for. I started by doing many layers in watercolor, and then adding a bit of colored pencil in certain areas to add texture.
