DVE3630 Web Stategy & Design:  Project 4 Accessibility Exercise

What exactly is accessibility and why is it important?
What did you learn about the topic?
How did you go about finding accessibility problems and solutions to them?

Addressing the Accessibility of a Search Engine Optimization ranking is a way of ranking/reviewing the website for accessibility of everyone.  Web accessibility will boost SEO usage/traffic -- making the website content available to everyone.  It has been said that search engines are deaf, blind, use only a keyboard and have limited technical abilities.  So it is necessary to develop a website to accommodate everyone.  Being SEO compliant supports Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or digital accessibility that ensures that websites are compliant and the standards of accessible design are followed.

I reviewed two general websites
Pepsico -- they received a 93% out of 100% in accessibility that is a very good rating.
Duck Tape -- they received a 96% out of 100% in accessibility that is a very good rating.

I am happy to see that both of my websites ranked high/good in accessibility so I will need to look closely to address any improvements in accessibility.  My focus will be in state of the art machines that will enable a non reader or a non moveable individual to respond to the website.  I know that such machinery exists but maybe by researching what is the newest on the market I will be able to include them in my recommendations and/or maybe information regarding grants that are available to offset the expense of these machines. Often special accessibility is not only for special needs but is often helpful for many.
