James Rodriguez Leaves Real Madrid for Everton

Real Madrid will be without the services of James Rodriguez this season. The Colombian attacking midfielder signed a two-year contract with Everton in the English Premier League on September 7. The deal is reportedly worth $26 million and carries an option for a third season. He will play under manager Carlo Ancelotti, who originally recruited him to join Madrid from the French club Monaco in 2014.

James scored 37 goals and added 42 assists for Madrid through 125 contests. He had 29 goals and 28 assists in 85 La Liga matches. He helped the team win a pair of La Liga championships and one Spanish Cup, but was recently playing on loan at Bayern Munich in Germany, where he had 15 goals and 20 assists in 67 contests.

The 29 year old emerged as an international star at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. He scored a tournament-leading six goals and helped lead Colombia to the quarterfinals.
