The Housewares Charity Foundation (HCF) is a nonprofit that brings together stakeholders in the home and housewares industry to raise funds to support various charities. HCF brings together manufacturers, retailers, and allied industry partners for an annual charity dinner event. Recently, HCF announced donations for 2020 totaling $350,000 to be distributed to three charities. This is despite the cancellation of the 2020 edition of the Housewares Cares Charity Gala as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The top charity to benefit is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), which will receive $250,000. The others are Winning With Wyatt and the James Beard Foundation, each of which will receive $50,000.

Announcing the donations, Derek Miller, International Housewares Association president, which provides HCF with administrative support, thanked partners who continued in their efforts in the midst of the pandemic. Part of HCF’s current fundraising initiatives include raising money to buy face masks for people in need. HCF has raised more than $51 million since the inaugural gala in 1998, including over $30 million donated to BCRF to support breast cancer research.
