One of the major projects I designed during my time at the International Arts Center was for the Nall “Alice in Wonderland” show. This project was a major promotional campaign for Troy University and the IAC. I was tasked with creating the base design of the promotional material used and helping the marketing department edit and distribute as needed. I was also in direct contact with Mrs. Janice Hawkins, the First Lady of Troy University, while creating the promotional material and installing this show. The end product is a collaboration between Mrs. Hawkins, Troy University Marketing Department, and myself.
"Notations of a Native Son" was the first major project I worked on when I started at the International Arts Center of Troy University. I was tasked with not only designing for this artist but visiting his artist studio and interviewing and transporting his works back to Troy. Is was these experiences that made this exhibit a passion project of mine. When I first received a sample email of Jahni’s work I was immediately taken with his sense of light and dark. I was thrilled that my first big project at my new job was for a modern and expressive artist like Jahni. I found Jahni to be such a genuine human being which made his art all that much more immersive to me. My focus for the promotional work was to highlight and showcase the artist's works and encompass the overall feel of the show and the International Arts Center. For this project I was tasked with creating a variety of prmotional pieces to be displayed both physically in a space or online. This included posters, a banner, postcard invitations, website displays, and social media content. It was through this work that I really cemented my love for designing print media.
