I have been experimenting with gouache a lot lately -- it's a very forgiving medium that allows me to be more playful (less rigid) in the shapes I create. There's a whimsy that I quite enjoy about it, as well as the vibrant colors that it creates. 

Here are a couple of mushroom illustrations I recently worked on--I sometimes struggle to figure out what to illustrate, and realized it's best to paint what you love. And, who doesn't love these fungis?!
