Henrik Drescher Retrospective Exhibition Poster

This poster design is for a mock exhibition dedicated to Danish illustrator Henrik Drescher, designed in his style.  Drescher is known for his eclectic illustrations borderlining on disconcerting, and for his use of found objects - ultimately creating a mismatched and disjointed whole.

The poster features an amalgamation of references to his previous works - a character from his children's book Klutz, a boat from his experimental log book Turbulence, cut and paste letters that he uses so often in his designs, etc.

The concept of hanging papers on wires and strings was taken from his own personal exhibition entitled "Nervenet" where he pieces together bits from his many, many personal notebooks and hangs them up around the exhibition space using found wires from his travels.
Below are some of his drawings that inspired me throughout the process of creating this poster.
