The challenge today for young designers is to reinterpret culture and bring back to contemporary environments. Colombia is selected as an international culture due to its multi-cultural wealth developing a project called RELIEVE TROPICAL, a project which explores Colombian identity and creates a new surface applying it towards a contemporary retail scenario.
The project consisted on three phases: the research mainly focus in surfaces and thermal floors of Colombia, the development of a design concept where the juxtaposition of Color, Texture, Pattern with the thermal floors creates a range of proposals of decorative papers assisted by Cleaf as part of the internship, and the implementation of them in contemporary interior space dedicated to a retail experience, which as final result the project introduce a visual, tactile, emotional surface and express a unique perception of Colombian identity into space.
